Feeding 500 Norwalk
Rowan Tanner
Rowan Tanner is a senior at Brien McMahon High School, and is co-president of the BMHS chapter this year. She has been involved with Feeding 500 since her sophomore year, and has since participated in several food drives, clothing drives, and other events that partner with Open Doors to support people experiencing homelessness and poverty. She has loved working with an organization that services her own city, as she is able to witness the impact Open Doors has in her community every day. Outside of the club, she is the captain of the girls’ varsity lacrosse team, as well as a member of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. She is very excited for the year to come, and hopes to expand Feeding 500 to new communities this year.
Leila Fairchild
Leila Fairchild is a senior co-president of the Brien McMahon chapter of Feeding 500. She first joined the club as a sophomore after hearing about it from a friend and quickly got hooked. She is inspired by the mission to help prevent homelessness and support people in the community. For her, it is really inspiring to see first-hand the changes that this organization is making right in her own area here in Norwalk. Outside of Feeding 500, she dedicates a lot of her time to crew and is the captain of her team. In addition, she is a member of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
